This article is addressed to African American teens and young adults between the ages of 12-25. We are interested in knowing what you think about being a Christian in today’s society. Please read the short article below then respond to the article by posting a comment. It is very important that you be honest as you are answering the questions. As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But, just as he who calls you is holy, so be holy in all you do. “For it is written: be holy because I am holy.” 1Peter 1:14-16

The scripture above is a clear command from God, to live holy in all that you do. Considering the fact that your generation is confronted with overwhelming challenges, is God asking to much of you? Or, is God challenging you to rise above the many daily challenges and be a ”light of what is right” to those who are falling into the following traps:

teen on teen crime,
youth of all ages using drugs and alcohol
rap music degrading ladies and destroying the image of black men,
gang violence placing all youth at-risk,
bullying becoming the everyday expression of communication,
music driving teen relationships to sex before marriage,
homosexuality as in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah.
witches and warlocks sharing the same hallways as the average teen,
aids and other diseases reaching an all time high for the average youth.

Many youth in your generation are feeling de-valued, ignored, misunderstood, rebellious, and feeling separated from those who can help them make right choices. Unfortunately, many youth wander through their teen years with all of hell loosed against them.As a result, many youth compromise what they know is right, daily bowing down to peer pressure.

Do you believe that today’s youth can choose to live for God, boldly making a statement, “that I will do what is right for my life?”
Do you believe that with God you can do all thing?
Do you believe that what does not break you, will surely make you a stronger person?
Have you ever thought, what would happen if living right became the in thing?
